Xung Tho Bui, 79, of Huber Heights, Ohio, passed away on May 1, 2026 surrounded by his loved ones.
Born on February 20, 1947 in Vietnam, Xung spent a large portion of his life in there where he fought for South Vietnam as a naval officer. After the war, he suffered eight years in a Communist re-education camp and attempted to flee Vietnam by boat 13 times before being successful. After liberation he sought refuge in the US where he embodied what it meant to live the American dream, as he was able to obtain a Masters degree in engineering and continued working for over 30 years.
Known for his sense of duty, generosity and tenacity, he is survived by the 3 women in his life: his life partner (Dieu Hang Tran) and 2 daughters (Lan-Anh and Kim-Anh). Xung was preceded in death by his wife (Lan Vuong).
A visitation and service will be held on May 9th at Routsong Funeral Home in Dayton, OH (visitation from 9-11am and funeral services to begin at 12pm). In lieu of flowers or donations, the family kindly requests that you honor Xung by keeping them in your thoughts or considering planting a tree or flowers in his memory.
Xung will be deeply missed and forever remembered and honored by all who knew and loved him.
