CULVER Sr., Merlin Eugene, age 84, passed away March 26, 2018 at Hospice of Dayton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ross E. and Ruth Culver; sister, Donna Denham; brother, Homer Culver; sister-in-law, Marjorie Rutherford. He is survived by his wife of 60 years and 9 months, Emma Louise Culver; 3 sons, Gene (Mary), Mike, Mark (Shellie); niece, Georgia de Roziere, who was like a daughter to him; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

He was born in Allen County, OH on January 19, 1934. He graduated from Spencerville High and played football. He was also a member of the Honor Society. He served in the Army from 1954 to 1956. Upon discharge he worked at the SOHIO Refinery in Lima, Ohio. He met his wife, Louise Schilling on a blind date and that was the beginning of a lifelong love affair of over 60 years. After marriage he graduated with a degree from Miami Jacobs School of Business in accounting. He served as Deputy Auditor for Montgomery County and then worked for DP&L in Plant Accounting for 30 years until his retirement. He was a loving husband and an amazing father to his 3 sons.

There will be no service per his request and the family will celebrate his life at a later date.
