Age 76 of Dayton, OH and South Daytona, FL, passed away on April 18 in South Daytona.
Tom was a 1960 graduate of Belmont High School. He was an independent businessman. He owned area drive-thru carry outs and Federal Vending. He began his career in his dad’s trucking business, Terminal Cartage. Tom and his dad worked side by side until his dad’s passing in 1999.
Tom was an avid collector, especially all things related to Dayton history. He loved cars and collected vintage automobiles. He made many friends following NASCAR and enjoyed watching UD basketball.
Tom was preceded in death by his dad, Thomas Sr., his mother, Thelma, and his sister, Karla Brinson. He is survived by his wife, Gwen; two daughters, Linda Nugent and Patricia (Brian) Greene; and three granddaughters, Emma Griffin, Caroline Greene, and Ellen Greene. He was their rock! He is also survived by his sister, Brenda Mowery of Kettering.
Funeral services will be private. A celebration of a life well-lived will be held at Bainbridge Hall, 267 Bainbridge St, Dayton, 45402 on Friday, April 27th from 4-7pm. A mass of intention will be said for Tom at 8:00 am on August 5, at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 830 Bowen Street, Dayton, OH. This is where Tom read the Sunday paper while waiting for mass to start.
